The KIS and Greek Jewry express their strong condemnation of the attacks carried out by Islamist extremists against Israeli fans after the end of a football match in Amsterdam. We express our solidarity with the victims and their families and wish the Israeli citizens who suffered the attack a safe return to their country.

We expect that the Dutch authorities will take immediate measures to arrest and punish the perpetrators in order to avoid similar phenomena that endanger the safety of Jews in Europe.

As modern-day pogroms, in the heart of Europe, such manifestations of anti-Semitism bring to mind dark times that humanity as a whole should take care not to repeat.

As tomorrow marks the 86 years since 'Kristallnacht' - the beginning of the derailment of civilization that led to the Holocaust of 6 million Jews - we are concerned about the overwhelming increase of anti-Semitism in the world after October 7, 2023, the day of the largest massacre of Jews since Holocaust.

86 years after the outbreak of anti-Semitic violence in Germany in 1938, Jews are being targeted in their homes and on the streets of Europe, where Islamist terrorists and their followers threaten the values of democracy and civilization. Values that Europe must protect!
