Following the recovery by the Israeli Army of the bodies of 6 Hamas hostages, from a tunnel in Rafah, Gaza (31.8.2024), the KISE sent to the ambassadors of Israel, Noam Katz, and the USA, George Tsunis (2.9.2024) , the following condolence message:
The Central Jewish Council of Greece (KIS) and Greek Jewry as a whole participate in the mourning of the Israeli and American people for the death of the five Israelis and one American-Israeli hostage who were murdered in cold blood by Hamas terrorists in Gaza last weekend.
Unfortunately, it has emerged that even during negotiations to reach an agreement for a ceasefire and the return of hostages, this terrorist organization did not hesitate, once again, to murder six young people in cold blood, after horrendously torturing them suffered in the bowels of Gaza for 11 months.
We express our condolences to the families of the victims and share their grief and sorrow for the loss of their loved ones. The mental strength, perseverance and struggle of the families for the return of all the hostages taken by the terrorists of Hamas on October 7, 2023, cause the admiration of every person who respects the supreme value of life.
We wish and hope that sanity will prevail and soon the 101 Israeli hostages, who have been held for 332 days in the bowels of Gaza, will return to their homes in Israel, which will provide the impetus for the resumption of the peace process.
Sincerely,
Ο Πρόεδρος DAVID SALTIEL
The General Secretary VICTOR ELIEZER
