It began with FANATICISM!... "Kristallnacht", the prelude to the genocide that led to the Holocaust of 6 million European Jews, began with hate speech, propaganda, bigotry, the delegitimization of the Jew to live as an equal with other fellow human beings in civil society.
The 7th of October 2023, with 1.400 dismembered and looted bodies in the towns and villages of Southern Israel and 242 innocent hostages in the hands of terrorists, marks the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. And today, 85 years after Kristallnacht, the same hate speech, propaganda and demonization of the State of Israel lead to the delegitimization of its right to exist as an equal state in the League of Nations.
Today, 85 years after the outbreak of anti-Semitic violence in Germany in 1938, Jews are being targeted in their homes and on the streets of Europe and America, where Islamic terrorists and their followers threaten the principles of democracy and civilization.
Today, as we reflect on Kristallnacht, we resent the signs humanity ignored and continue to ignore, the lessons the world failed to learn. That the cry of the Israeli mother is as painful as the cry of the Palestinian mother, and that both peoples have the right to live in peace and prosperity, against the terrorism of Hamas that affects the children of both peoples.
Today, as we worry about the unequal equations between terrorists and the State of Israel, about the uneducated voices that willfully blind or - even worse - manipulate ignorance, our message is clear, our stance is irrevocable and one: We are against terrorism, bigotry and intolerance!

The Central Jewish Council of Greece expresses its surprise and concern OLME announcement with which he declared "Monday, November 6, 2023 a nationwide day of action in favor of the Palestinian people", one day before the completion of 30 days since the barbaric attack by Hamas on towns and villages of the State of Israel.
With this text, he adopts the Board of Directors of OLME and uses exactly the same argumentation of Hamas which seeks the destruction of Israel, and the murder of Jews, wherever they are. The authors of the text demonize the State of Israel and delegitimize its right to exist. This text reflects the propaganda of Hamas in order to deepen and widen the hatred against Israel and the Jews in the new generation of Palestinians in Gaza.
Unfortunately, the OLME, in its text of support for the Palestinian people, did not find the space to condemn the inhuman attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023, in which its members slaughtered and burned alive 1.400 Israeli citizens of all ages. He did not find the space to call for the release of 242 Israeli infants, men and women who were kidnapped by Hamas and are being held in the bowels of Gaza! And what's more, he never denied the massacres of Hamas!
BUT THESE WERE JEWS...
Apparently some at OLME don't care about Jews. Their sensitivity is selective... Israel and the Jews are the easy target!
As Israeli politician Yair Lapid, leader of the centrist opposition Officer party, wrote in an open letter: “There is a reason you are protesting against us these days and, like everything else, it comes from feelings. Because contrary to everything you think about yourself, everything you say about color blindness, humanity, human rights defenders and all the rest, you have another personality trait – you are anti-Semitic. I know you think you're not, but you are."

CENTRAL BOARD OF JEWISH COMMUNITIES IN GREECE

The members of the Bureau of the Central Jewish Council of Greece met today, November 6, 2023, with the Minister of Education, Mr. Kyriakos Pierrakakis, and expressed the concerns of Greek Jews about the climate of anti-Semitism that is forming due to the crisis in the Middle East. They pointed out to the Minister of Education the dangers of increasing anti-Semitism in Greece due to the unilateral announcements against the State of Israel and the operation to delegitimize its right to exist.
The Bureau of the Central Israeli Council of Greece reiterated the support of Greek Jewry to the people of Israel and requested the exercise of all possible influence for the release of the Israeli hostages held in the bowels of Gaza by the terrorist organization Hamas.
Mr. Pierrakakis confirmed the Greek government's firm stance against anti-Semitism and emphasized that "the role of the school is to cultivate the values of humanity, democracy, responsibility towards fellow human beings, dialogue and respect for diversity. It is not to encourage the free thinking of students nor to single them out based on gender, origin, religion or any other element of identity. Certainly, it is also not to distinguish the victims of terrorism or a war into innocent and guilty.
The meeting was attended by KISE President Mr. David Saltiel, First Vice President Mr. Manos Alkhanatis, General Secretary Mr. Victor Eliezer, General Treasurer Mr. Daniel Benardout, as well as General Secretary of Religious Affairs Mr. Giorgos Kalantzis.

The Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece expresses the concern of Greek Jewry for the manifestations of anti-Semitism recorded in recent days as a consequence of Israel's war against the terrorist organization of Hamas.
Both graffiti in the Holocaust mural, which is located in the new railway station in Thessaloniki, as well as the damage caused to a Greek Jewish shop, are appalling.
The era of tolerance for anti-Semitism is definitively over and, neither in Greece nor in Europe, free voices can allow the return of pogroms against the Jews.

The Central Jewish Council of Greece expresses the undivided support of Greek Jewry to the State and the people of Israel who received murderous attacks by the terrorists of Hamas.
Fifty years after the Yom Kippur War, Israel is defending itself against a widespread onslaught of murderous Islamists who are targeting the lives and safety of Israeli citizens in their own homes in an attempt to make their stated goal of wiping the Jewish state off the map come true. They will not succeed!
Israeli citizens and soldiers face this attack unitedly and we Greek Jews stand by them and express our solidarity with the families of the dozens of people who were killed or injured by the killers of Hamas.
We stand with Israel!
