On 27.6.2023, the handover ceremony for the new Minister of Education, Religion and Sports, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, was held by the Service Minister Prof. Christos Kittas, in the presence of the Deputy Minister responsible for Sports Giannis Oikonomou and Deputy Ministers Zettas Makris and Domnas Michaelidou.
"Education will determine the future of the country", emphasized the new Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis during his speech at the ceremony, underlining that "this is the ministry par excellence that refers to the future, invests in the future, builds in the future, talks with the future. And it is essentially here in education that everything will be decided for our country for the next 10 years".
Among the issues the new Minister mentioned were the actions to combat anti-Semitism, pointing out: "A priority here will be the preparation of the National Action Plan to combat Anti-Semitism, and various actions and initiatives are being planned in this direction" .
