With the slogan "#SportsSpreadsRespect", delegations from six countries (Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Montenegro, Greece), representatives of the Council of Europe and experts, sent the message against hate speech in sports , at the two-day workshop organized by General Secretariat A on 21 and 22/6 and hosted at SEF, within the framework of the European program "Combating Hate Speech in Sport".
During the event, the strategic goals of the program were discussed, as well as the promotional actions that must be followed to deal with hate speech in the field of sports as well, while the decisive role of athletes in this effort was highlighted. Present, with a catalytic contribution, the athletes-ambassadors of the program Ioannis Mellisanidis, Panos Triantafillou Evina Maltsi, Aauri Laura Bokesa Abia who shared their personal experiences and submitted proposals for dealing with it.

On 27.6.2023, the handover ceremony for the new Minister of Education, Religion and Sports, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, was held by the Service Minister Prof. Christos Kittas, in the presence of the Deputy Minister responsible for Sports Giannis Oikonomou and Deputy Ministers Zettas Makris and Domnas Michaelidou.
"Education will determine the future of the country", emphasized the new Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis during his speech at the ceremony, underlining that "this is the ministry par excellence that refers to the future, invests in the future, builds in the future, talks with the future. And it is essentially here in education that everything will be decided for our country for the next 10 years".
Among the issues the new Minister mentioned were the actions to combat anti-Semitism, pointing out: "A priority here will be the preparation of the National Action Plan to combat Anti-Semitism, and various actions and initiatives are being planned in this direction" .

The Jewish Museum of Greece, continuing its action to combat anti-Semitism and promote Jewish life, through its participation in the ENCATE network, organized, with the support of the General Secretariat of Religions of the Ministry of Education and Religions and co-financed by the European Union, a seminar with subject: "Our perspective is changing: Workshops to combat anti-Semitism and support Jewish life in Greece".
The workshop, which took place on Thursday 25 May 2023, at the Ionian Center in Plaka, was a high-level meeting, where teachers, participants from Non-Governmental Organizations and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Culture had the opportunity to exchange opinions and ideas both regarding the actions they have carried out themselves in their schools and institutions, as well as for the measures to be taken to counter anti-Semitism and strengthen Jewish life throughout the Greek territory.
The power of sport to tackle anti-Semitism and hatred was the focus of the World Jewish Congress (WJC) forum, 'Fighting anti-Semitism in and through sport', held on the sidelines of a UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva, on 29.3.2023, which coincided with the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Vice-President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas, representatives from the UN Human Rights Council, UNESCO and UEFA, the UK Government's Adviser on Anti-Semitism, Lord John Mann, as well as representatives of Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Feyenoord and of PAE ARIS Thessaloniki were there and spoke about the importance of the initiative, while they shared best practices informing about their own actions.
Ο Margaritis Schoinas, Vice-President of the European Commission for Promoting the European Way of Life, said: “Today's debate and the WJC's initiative to combat anti-Semitism in sport and society could not be more timely. Anti-Semitism is unfortunately on the rise again across Europe and football is not immune to this phenomenon."
