ENE was honored to receive the “Developing Union of the Year 2025” award from the European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS) during the gala held at its annual Summer U program. The award was received by ENE Council Secretary General Victor Moses, along with Theodoros Simcha Kanter, religious minister of the Kehila Kedosha Janina synagogue in New York. This award comes in recognition of the efforts made by the council over the past year, which were characterized by the organization of two international programs and one addressed to ENE volunteers (ENElondes), as well as its contribution to the organization of last year’s Summer U in Ioannina.
This year's Summer U event lasted from August 10 to 17, 2025 and, after last year's event in Ioannina, this year it took place in Bansko, Bulgaria, bringing together approximately 300 Jews aged 18 to 30. The program included dozens of lectures and activities on various topics, as well as numerous themed parties in the evenings. The aforementioned gala featured live music by Victor Moses in collaboration with the Bulgar Klezmer Band, while he himself contributed musically to the closing ceremony of the event.
Among other things, ENE actively participated for another year in the EUJS General Assembly, this time successfully introducing two resolutions. These resolutions, which were presented and voted on by the plenary of the General Assembly, concern the restriction of the use of artificial intelligence images in the publications and in the EUJS presence on the Internet, as well as the creation of a network of young European Jewish artists.
ENE sincerely thanks EUJS for the honor and hopes for the continuation of its beautiful collaboration with it.
