On the initiative of the Mayor, Antonis Kambourakis, a special event was held in Rhodes by Congregation Simchat Halev, a charitable organization based in Israel that offers important social work.

In particular, the "Simchat Halev" organization has the Clowns at Heart team, with approximately 500 volunteer clowns in dozens of hospitals, medical facilities and various institutions throughout Israel, who work with local medical staff and participate in regular training courses and workshops at the charity's teaching centre.

The mission of "Simchat Halev" and the Clowns at Heart team, is to provide support, encouragement to adults and children who are in emotional distress and to provide emotional and moral support to people in various "therapeutic" settings.

In particular, as part of the mission carried out in Rhodes in collaboration with the Municipal Authority, the members of the organization visited the "ELPIDA" Center and the Child Care Center for Women of Rhodes (Rhodes Orphanage). This unique group of Simchat Halev sang, danced and had fun with the children and beneficiaries of the structures who went crazy with the clowns and stilt walkers.

The president of the Welfare Institutions of Rhodes, Maria Korakaki, the president of the Elpida Center, Stavroula Kapoulas, and the director of the Elpida Center, Sotiris Venizelos, expressed their thanks for this special experience to the Municipal Authority and the "Simchat Halev" team.
