On the occasion of the celebration of the new Jewish year 5785, the special envoy for the fight against anti-Semitism, Ambassador Chrysoula Aliferi, sent the following letter to KISE:
"Dear Mr. President and Mr. Secretary General,
On the occasion of the upcoming Jewish New Year Rosh Asana, I wish you, the members of the Central Jewish Council of Greece and your families, as well as all the Jews in Greece, that the new Jewish year brings sweet moments with health, love, happiness and every good.
We do not forget, almost a year after the barbaric terrorist attack against Israel on October 7, 2023, to wish and demand that the people still held hostage by the atrocity on that day be freed now.
At the same time, since that day and what has followed, we note with regret that anti-Semitic incidents have increased in many parts of the world, and not only verbally, and that it has become more difficult to combat them. In Greece we stick to a principled policy, we repeat that anti-Semitism is not tolerated and we will not stop fighting it by any means possible.
We hope that in the new year that dawns, the forces of prudence and justice will prevail.-
Yours sincerely,
The Special Envoy Chrysoula Aliferi
Ambassador"
