* The WORLD JEWISH CONGRESS TWEET
Anti-Semitism is rearing its ugly head in Thessaloniki, Greece, where a monument commemorating the Jewish cemetery destroyed by the Nazis in 1942 has been targeted by vandals for the fourth time.
Blatant anti-Semitism cannot be tolerated. It is time to stop the hatred against the Jews.
* The AMERICAN JEWISH COMMITTEE TWEET
In 1942, Nazi troops destroyed the Jewish cemetery in Thessaloniki, Greece, along with 94% of the city's Jewish population.
The desecration of their monument with Nazi symbols is a supreme insult to their memory and must be condemned by all.
* The ANTI-DEFAMATION LEAGUE TWEET
We join our partners at the Central Jewish Council of Greece in denouncing the vandalism of a Jewish monument in Thessaloniki, where 97% of the Jewish community was murdered in the Holocaust, and in their appeal to law enforcement authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice.

* TWEET OF THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION NIKI KERAMEOS
We unequivocally condemn the vandalism of the monument of the old Jewish cemetery of Thessaloniki. Enacted acts that express anti-Semitism & intolerance have no place in our country, a modern, European, privileged state that respects & protects religious freedom.
* ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs unequivocally condemns the desecration, with Nazi symbols, inside the premises of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, of the monument dedicated to the old Jewish cemetery of Thessaloniki.
The Greek state and society unreservedly reject any act of racism, intolerance and anti-Semitism wherever it is manifested. All the more so when this happens in a city that mourned 50.000 members of its historic Jewish community, our compatriots who fell victim to the Nazi Holocaust simply because they were Jewish. There can be no tolerance for such illegal and unethical actions.
* STATEMENT OF ISRAEL'S AMBASSADOR TO GREECE NOAM KATZ
I categorically condemn the vandalism of the Jewish monument at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki today. It is a clear reminder of the need to combat such acts of hatred and anti-Semitism coming from the extremist fringes of society. We stand by the Israeli Community of Thessaloniki. We believe that the Greek authorities will make every effort to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
* STATEMENT BY US AMBASSADOR GEORGE TSUNEY
The US Ambassador to Athens, George Tsunis, condemns the "heinous and disgraceful vandalism" of the Jewish monument in AUTH, saying that it "desecrates the life and precious memory of the 50.000 Jews of Thessaloniki, who were murdered by the Nazis during the Holocaust." "We stand united with the Jewish community and the people of Greece against such acts of hatred and intolerance. In the birthplace of democracy, we have a sacred obligation to defend the democratic values that unite our peoples, to preserve the memory of the Holocaust, and to always remain vigilant in our fight against anti-Semitism and hate crimes," emphasizes George Tsounis.
* LETTER OF G.G. GIORGOS KALANTZIS OF RELIGIONS TO KISE (29/12/2022)
Dear Mr. President, Dear Mr. General,
Shortly before the end of a year in which there had been no vandalism of synagogues and Holocaust memorial sites, unfortunately unknown as to their identity but known for their inhumane and authoritarian ideology chose to manifest their hatred by desecrating the Memorial that has been erected at the site of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in memory of the city's old Jewish cemetery.

The Monument dedicated to the Jewish cemetery and located at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was, once again, the target of heinous vandalism. The swastika was imprinted on the tomb marking the sanctity of the site, one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in Ευρώπης -which was completely destroyed in 1942 by the Nazis and their collaborators- and the annihilation of the country's largest Israeli community, Thessaloniki, in the Holocaust. At the same time, the marble dedication of the Monument was desecrated with a fascist symbol.
Marked by gruesome Nazi swastikas and fascist-inspired graffiti, it leaves in 2022, a year in which no incident of desecration of Jewish space was recorded. We condemn the unholy act of vandals, followers of intolerance and anti-Semitism who express their hatred and fanaticism by desecrating the memory of dead Thessalonian Jews. No tolerance for anti-Semitism!
We call on the Prosecuting Authorities to ensure the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and their referral to Justice.
