Metropolitan Pavlos of Servia & Kozani in his sermon on the evening of Maundy Thursday 17.4.2025 he said, among other things: “The greatest sin is ingratitude. To condemn and lead to death the person who benefited you here is a crime in cold blood”, said, among other things, in his sermon the Metropolitan of Servia & Kozani Mr. Pavlos referring to the Jews, concluding that: “I am not an anti-Semite but this is the truth” (Video HERE)
With words of enlightened hierarchs, he responded to the Metropolitan of Kozani. G.G. by KISE Victor Eliezer in his post on FB (HERE):
"In the face of the hateful sermons uttered by representatives of obscurantism, it is useful to recall the wise words of the bright Hierarchs of Orthodoxy that constitute the best response to intolerance."
-Metropolitan Anthimos of Alexandroupolis: “…In our relationship with God, we all have a Jew within us, to this day. The Christian Church must never forget its duty to the Old Testament and to the people of Israel as a “tutor to Christ”. There have been extreme times when it forgot it and then acted unchristianly and inhumanly…”

"Many in our time question the value and contribution of the Old Testament to the whole of civilization. Some fight it and disapprove of it. They are wrong. The Old Testament is God's second gift to man. The first was rational and autonomous life.
When other peoples were struggling in the dark, biblical Israel spoke with God. When other peoples were suspicious of God and tried to locate him in the many-faced idols, Israel made agreements with him. When other peoples sacrificed their children to appease the divine, Israel sang and praised God and took care to reduce the distance that separated them from him. The texts of the Old Testament manipulated ancient man, taking him out of the centuries of barbarity into several glades of civilization. In the territory where the people of God moved, they built with the "building materials" they found, the foundations for the timeless religiosity of the planet. The texts of the Old Testament are read multiple times and emerge a fragrance of trust in God and how it is regained when it is shaken.
In our relationship with God, we all have a Jew within us, to this day. The Christian Church must never forget its duty to the P.D. and to the people of Israel as an “educator in Christ.” There have been extreme times when it forgot it and then acted unchristianly and inhumanly.
It is time to discuss based on the Constitution and to respect its contribution to the whole of civilization. To understand this need, try to remove from global legislation, from morals, from art, from humanism what the Constitution offered and then you will understand how tragically poor and meaningless the world will remain.
Try to read the New Testament without having heard anything about the Old and then you will understand only a few passages. So whether we like it or not, “to the Israelites belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises. They are our fathers, and from them comes Christ according to the flesh” (Rom. 9,4:5-XNUMX). It is useful to always remember this. And to recognize it.”
