After announcement issued by the organization of "ANIMASYROS 2024", through which it announces the termination of cooperation with the Embassy of Israel in Greece, the Embassy of Israel made the following announcement:
"ANIMASYROS International Animation Festival has been a long-standing partner of the Embassy of Israel, believing that art and culture should be a meeting place that promotes dialogue, inclusion and pluralism. It is therefore sad and deeply disappointing that the festival abandoned these values, cowardly succumbing to the intimidation of anti-Israel groups and small political factions, cutting off its cooperation with the Embassy.We had higher expectations...
Collaborators, and indeed all who value free cultural exchanges, should condemn this decision and raise their voices."

The students of the KI series of EDA were informed at the Jewish Museum of Greece and the Sephardic and Romani Synagogue, where the seat of the Israelite Community of Athens is also located, about the rich presence of the Judaism of Greece since antiquity, the identity of the Greek Jews and its scourge antisemitism. They paid tribute to the Holocaust Memorial, a reminder of the horror that intolerance can cause but also a commitment that this crime will not be repeated. The Students were accompanied by the Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the fight against Anti-Semitism and the Protection of the Memory of the Holocaust, Ambassador Ms. X. Aliferi.

The topical issue of anti-Semitism was the theme of the Conference 'Never Again? Democracy cannot tolerate anti-Semitism" held in Vienna, on September 10 and 11, 2024. The Hellenic Parliament was represented by MPs Athanasios Davakis (leader), Evangelos Syrigos and Evangelos Apostolakis.
New Democracy Member of Parliament Evangelos Syrigos in his statement in the section "Developments in the Middle East and how they affect our societies" noted that "Judaism and Israel are not the same thing. Judaism is something much broader than Israel. Israel, however, is a child of the Holocaust of Judaism, and thus the opinion was established that only a Jewish state could provide real security for the Jews."

The c.g. of the Central Jewish Council of Greece, Victor Eliezer, commented in a scathing manner on the recent statements of SYRIZA MP Petros Pappas.
Petros Pappas, referring to the internal party procedures of his party, pointed out that "Stefanos Kasselakis was overthrown at the exact moment he was trying to lead SYRIZA to a constitutional conference. That is, to transform this party of tendencies, of small barons, this party of left-wing guards of pure leftism, it reminds of the orthodox Jews - this obsession let's say with the purity of the faith. Because some people don't want to lose the keys to the temple."
PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK "THE SONGS OF THE HOLOCAUST OF THE GREEK JEWS" BY MARIANZELA HATZISTAMATIOU

The book by Mariangela Hadjistamatiou "The songs of the Holocaust of the Greek Jews", was presented at an event co-organized on 29.5.2024, in Athens, by the publishing house Alexandria, KISE and Public, at the event space of Public.
The book is the second stage of the soprano's doctoral thesis and complements the CD "Unknown musical treasures of the Greek Jews" (released by the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki and IKTH). And while the CD offered a global picture of Greek-Jewish music, the book, focused on the songs of the Holocaust, gives a new dimension to the subject of Holocaust studies and reveals to us valuable information about the Greek-Jewish prisoners in the Nazi camps.
