The leadership of Greek Jewry met with the Israeli Minister of Regional Cooperation David Amsalem, the Israeli Ambassador Noam Katz and a group of high-ranking executives of Israeli energy, infrastructure and defense companies, in the context of a working dinner hosted by the KISE on 18.3.25, at the Cultural Center of the I.K. of Athens.

The Minister and the Israeli delegation were welcomed by the Secretary General of the Jewish Community of Athens, Delia Alchanati, who in her brief speech referred, among other things, to the community's centuries-old history and contemporary work for the development of Jewish life in Athens.

For his part, the President of KISE, Mr. David Saltiel, welcomed the Minister and the delegation and spoke about the strong ties of Greek Jews with Israel, referring to historical elements - such as the contribution of Thessalonian Jews to the reconstruction of the port of Haifa - and concluding on the importance of unity and solidarity, especially in difficult periods such as the one that Israeli society is going through after the terrorist attack of 7.10.23.

In his response, Minister Amsalem thanked for the hospitality and spoke about the Israel-Hamas war, emphasizing Israel's determination to eliminate the terrorist Hamas, which constitutes a permanent threat to its survival, and to bring back the hostages still held in Gaza. At the same time, the Israeli Minister referred to the importance of the trilateral cooperation between Greece - Cyprus - Israel, both for the development and progress of the three countries, as well as for stability in the wider region. Mr. Amsalem also spoke about the importance and benefits of the multi-level cooperation between Greece and Israel and referred to the contacts of the delegation with their Greek counterparts in the fields of energy, infrastructure and defense.

The dinner concluded with an exchange of commemorative gifts between Minister Amsalem and the President of KISE.
