We publish below a text by Victor I. Eliezer that was published in the newspaper Kathimerini on 20.9.2025 with the title "On genocide and democracy" in response to an article by Stavros Zoumboulakis entitled "Genocide and Democracy" published in the newspaper Kathimerini on 14.9.2025.
"I read the article entitled "Genocide and Democracy" by Mr. Stavros Zoumboulakis, whom I admire for his contribution to literature and the fight against anti-Semitism.
It alleges that Israel has committed: “a. killing members of the group, b. causing serious harm to the physical or mental integrity of members of the group, c. intentionally inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part, d. measures intended to prevent births within the group.”
Article by the President of the EJC in Euronews (17.9.25): Last week, towards the end of a tourist season in Venice, an Orthodox Jewish family was attacked during their evening stroll through the city when a group of passers-by brutally attacked and spat at them, shouting "Freedom to Palestine."
