Among this year's Holocaust Remembrance Day events, on 30.1.2025, a votive plaque was unveiled outside the Bouga Camp in Larissa, by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense, Antonis Economou.

In this camp, in the spring of 1944, 2.650 Jews from Larissa, Trikala, Volos and Ioannina were gathered and detained by the Nazis, before being deported and killed in Auschwitz.

This was followed by a memorial service and the laying of wreaths at the Holocaust Memorial and an event at the Municipal Conservatory with the author Christos Chomenides as the keynote speaker.
