On Saturday, March 11, 2017, a very special theater performance: "Anne Frank's Lost Innocence" an adaptation of Anne Frank's diary, by the amateur theater group of the Thessaloniki Community, Entremosotros.

The tragic figure of the little Jewish girl, who combined childlike innocence and wisdom, was shockingly brought to life by the protagonist Stelina Jacquard, flanked by Alberto Sevi, Aliki Angel, Barry Sevi, Salina Mayr, Christina Haratsidou, Alberto Perez, Christos Vyrozis who were excellent in the other roles. , David Nahmia, Valia Chrysochou, in a production that had nothing to envy from the professional ones. The performance was co-organized by the Deputy Mayor of Culture of the Municipality of Larissa and the Israeli Communities of Larissa and Thessaloniki.

The next day the team members visited Anne Frank Square in Larissa to commemorate their little heroine, at the modest votive column with her name located there.

Three prominent intellectual personalities of Larissa were honored by the Central Public Library of Larissa "Konstantinos Koumas" for their rich writing work and for their general contribution to the society and culture of the city. Among those honored was the honorary President of the Israeli Community of Larissa, the late Esdras Moses.

Larissa cardiologist Yiannis Sapkas spoke about the personality and work of Esdras Moussis, who very aptly characterized him as "an active citizen before the term active citizen was even invented". space of letters and "leafed through" his pains, revealing the different faces of his writing work. In other words, he presented the author as a historian, researcher, folklorist and journalist, as a militant and unyielding defender of Jewish issues and as a restless and creative spirit, who fought with his pen for what was right and just, but also for the preservation of memory. Special mention was made of the most important of Esdras Moussis's works "The Jewish Community of Larissa before and after the Holocaust" with which the author, utilizing the material of his rich personal archive, recorded the centuries-long course of the Jewish Community of Larissa. A community that he loved very much and served with dedication for decades.

Then the wife of Esdras Moussis, Rita Moussis, received the honorary distinction of the Library and, as she had been asked, read a passage from his work, specifically his introduction to the above book, considering, as she said, that "this text characterizes him completely as what he has always been: a Greek above all, a member of the Larissa society and a worthy child of the Jewish Community".

The Jewish School of Larissa respects the custom of "To Bisvat", a celebration where people participate in the regeneration of nature by planting trees.

The 15th day of the month of Chevat in the Jewish calendar is the day that marks the beginning of the "New Year of Trees." It is the time when the first trees in the Mediterranean basin bloom, as they wake up from their winter sleep and begin a new cycle of fruiting. So from the Jewish School of Larissa, this year, on the initiative of the teacher Iakovos Algava, it was proposed to plant a tree in the square of Anne Frank, where every year on January 27 events are held in memory of the child victims of the Holocaust.

The Green Service, responding to the request, chose the appropriate tree and helped the children in the implementation of their action. "On this day," said the disciples, "we honor the trees of God and eat fruit from the seven kinds of trees that stand out in the hymns that are related to the wealth of the Holy Land. Wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives and dates. These seven fruits represent the different elements, as well as the types of man's spiritual life. Also on this day we remember that man is also a tree in the field and we reflect on the lessons we can learn for our lives from this beautiful custom".
