 After the renovation in 2010 of the Spiritual Center of the Larissa Community and the installation (thanks to donations from the families of Rosa Misdrachi-USA and Allegri Sasson) of a complete audio-visual system, the Spiritual Action Committee had the idea to make the Club a beautiful, comfortable and warm hangout, for regular meetings.

ANNOUNCEMENT CEREMONY of S. MATALON as an HONORARY DOCTOR

In May 2010, Mr. Sandis Matalon, a distinguished American academic, was awarded an honorary doctorate at the Medical School of Larissa.  The event took place in the "Hippokratis" amphitheater of the school's new building, in the presence of the rectory and local authorities, faculty members and representatives of the Israelite Community of Larissa.

ISRAEL INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION 2010

Details

With the Israeli ambassador Mr. Ali Yahia as an official guest and representatives from other Communities, the members of the Larissa Community, on 22.4.10, celebrated the 62η anniversary of the Independence of the State of Israel. The event began in the Synagogue, with a memorial service and candle lighting, in memory of those who fell in the struggles for Israel's independence.

SOA MEMORIAL DAY 2010

Details
On 13.4.2010, I.K. Larissa organized a modest ceremony for the Shoah Remembrance Day which started with a memorial prayer by the Rabbi of Larissa, Mr. Elias Sabetai and the lighting of candles, in memory of the victims of the Shoah, by the surviving hostages, which created an emotional atmosphere in the store Synagogue.

EVENT of WIZO - AVIV

On 25.2.2010, on the occasion of the holiday of Purim, the ladies of I.K. Larisa, the established bazaar of traditional sweets, in the "Fourio" center.
The president of WIZO - AVIV, Mrs. Stella Fellows, in her short speech referred to the importance of the Purim celebration. The buffet was rich in traditional sweets, which the ladies of the Community willingly offered. A raffle followed, the proceeds of which went to the Autistic Children's Association of the city. The event ended with Latin dances, by the director and students of the Burn the Floor dance school, which were applauded by the ladies.
