The program Cultural Memory History Actions, invites undergraduate and postgraduate students (regardless of university and field of study), teachers, technical students and performers from Macedonia and Thrace (18-40 years old) to register for the free workshop "One wardrobe, three cities, one story".

On March 3-4, 1943, our Greek-Jewish fellow citizens were arrested by the Bulgarian fascist occupation forces in the cities of Serres, Drama, Kavala, Xanthi, Komotini and Alexandroupoli. They were then sent to the Treblinka extermination camp in Poland, where they were exterminated. The workshop is therefore being organized on the occasion of the 2023th anniversary of the violent seizure and extermination of the members of the Jewish communities in the region in 80 and is part of a wider tribute that the program is working on in collaboration with other bodies of the AMTH region .

The participants will approach issues of memory, with special reference to the Holocaust, through the museological approach, but also the construction installation (installation) and participation, for those who wish, in performance art.

The reference point of the workshop will be a presumption of industrial heritage, which is also related to the Holocaust of the Jewish population of AMTH. It is a wardrobe, which was rescued by Mrs. Maria Petra, a member of the program. The closet is directly connected both to the shared smoking past of three cities of the Greek Orthodox Church, as well as to the pre-war presence of the Jewish communities. On the wardrobe there is in three places (stencil print) the name of the owner of Juda Haim Perahia. Yuda Chaim Perachia (1886-1970), was the director of the tobacco company Commercial Company of Salonica Ltd, initially in the cities of Kavala, Drama and then in Xanthi. He was saved from being transported and exterminated in Treblinka, because on the night of March 3-4, 1943, he was in Kavala.

The workshop "One wardrobe, three cities, one history" will take place in the conservation area "Pastali", which is located in Palaia Chryssa, Xanthi. As part of the workshop cycle, four meetings will be held in the period December 2022 – February 2023. The workshop will conclude with the official presentation of the document at a special event in Xanthi, in March 2023, while there is the intention to transfer and present it also in other cities of the region.

The application deadline is Monday, November 28 (23:59) and the first introductory meeting will take place in December. Workshop places are limited. Participants will be given a certificate of participation.
