A message of vigilance to the peoples so that humanity does not relive the Nazi horror was sent yesterday from the Dachau concentration camp, which was visited by the Ecumenical Patriarch Mr. Bartholomew.

Orthodox metropolitans and clerics, Catholic and evangelical bishops, Jewish and Muslim priests, with the Ecumenical Patriarch, Mr. Bartholomew, a prayer "for the repose of the souls" of the thousands of prisoners who died there in horrific conditions during the Nazi period in Germany was sent to the Dachau concentration camp yesterday.

At the same time, they issued a message of vigilance to the people so that humanity would "never again" experience the Nazi horror.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law making Holocaust denial illegal. 
 
Under this law, denying Nazi crimes and misrepresenting the role the Soviet Union played in World War II would be punishable by up to 5 years in prison or a $14.000 fine. 
 
The legislation was approved by the Parliaments of Russia in April 2014.
 
In Russia, the public display of Nazi symbols is already banned.
 
Comparisons have been made in recent months with Nazi Germany due to the conflicts between Russia and Ukrainian nationalists.

With this film, the director presents the Jewish tradition through the testimonies of 6 surviving Jews of Brussels. The testimonies were selected from 228 interviews which lasted more than 1.250 hours of audio recording. The survivors recount their experiences leading up to the imposition of anti-Semitic laws in 1941. Their narrative begins with their settlement in the area and continues with their experiences of internment and deportation to the concentration camps.

 "Every year on the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp, we honor the victims of the Holocaust.
This year we focus on the journey through the Holocaust. I remember a recent trip of mine.
Last November, I passed through the infamous 'Arbeit macht frei' (Work sets you free) gate at Auschwitz-Birkenau. I will never forget this moment. I saw the horrible remnants of the genocidal machinery, as well as moving pictures of Jewish life in Europe in the 1930s. Weddings, family tables, rituals, scenes of simple family life. Everything was lost because of systematic murder, unique in human history.
