The school community of the 3rd GEL Kavala in a statement expresses its warm thanks to Aaron Tsiminos, son of the late Sabetai Tsiminos, as on Tuesday January 24, 2023, he opened his welcoming home and received in the most cordial way a delegation of his students and teachers school as part of a research paper on the Jewish Community of Kavala and its annihilation in the Treblinka extermination camp during World War II.
Mr. Tsimino gave an extremely interesting interview to the school's research team, which consisted of the students Mandrani Maria, Moysiadou Eugenia, Konstantinos-Christopher Nolan-Hioni & the teachers Dimitriadou Maria & Adamos Evangelos.
He referred to the long history of his family, the persecution suffered by the Jewish community of Kavala, the inhumane nature of fascism with most of the suffering it has caused to humanity as well as the great and complex legacy that his father left not only in his own homeland , Kavala, but also to historians, researchers and future generations. The tireless research of the late Sabbetai Cimino gave the children the opportunity and enabled them to illuminate, supplement and expand their study & knowledge of the Holocaust on the scale of the local.

Louder than any other year was this year's NEVER AGAIN children in Larissa and their dynamic presence in actions they organized or participated in, on the occasion of the National Holocaust Remembrance Day.
On Thursday 26 January 2023, more than 150 middle school and high school students they suffocated the Mill Theater and they watched the shocking performance "Saturday" of the Television Control Center, which tells the story and displacement of the Jews of Ioannina. It was an initiative of the Thessalian Theater (which offered this show to the Larissa public the night before) to repeat it the next day for the students and the response of the schools exceeded all expectations.
On Friday 27 January 2023 her tribute event was presented at the Municipal Conservatory of Secondary Education of Larisa, in collaboration with the Israeli Community, which has established itself in our city and is embraced by more schools every year. In this year's manifestation, which had an issue "Holocaust Drama Becomes Art" they participated 20 schools in the prefecture, presenting original creations of the students, which they had prepared under the guidance of their excellent teachers. Powerful paintings alternated with sensitive poems, written by the children themselves, collage posters with digital videos and theater acts with choral songs, in this impeccably organized event.

The International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust was celebrated by the 2nd EPAL of Rethymno as part of the European Parliament's Ambassador Candidate School program. The UN General Assembly has declared January 27 as a day of remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust by the Nazi regime during World War II.
The action - tribute of the 2nd EPAL started with the screening of the film "Renee Molho- A Bookstore in six chapters", which tells the story of two Jewish residents of Thessaloniki, who managed to survive thanks to a Spanish diplomat and some Greek families who fled them, during the Second World War and thus did not go to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland .
Then he followed speech by Ms. Eleftheriou Xenia, scientific manager of the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki. Mrs. Eleftheriou referred to the events of 1945 and the inhuman behavior of the Reich towards the Jewish Community. In her speech, she focused on the history of the Jews of Crete, where during the German occupation, in order to go to Auschwitz, they boarded the ship Tanais, but it sank and thus many Cretan Jews perished. Also during her speech, she referred to stories of Jews and how they were saved by Christians in Crete, such as Ms. Lilian Capon. Concluding her speech, she referred to the historical researcher Mr. Nikos Stavroulakis and his great contribution, both to the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki and the restoration of the synagogue in Chania.

On Thursday, January 26, 2023, the central event for Holocaust Remembrance Day, entitled "Skytali in Remembrance" was held at the Athens Concert Hall. The event was opened with emotion and pride by the choir of XNUMXth and XNUMXth grade students of the Lauder School of the Israelite Community of Athens, with the song "A suitcase of dreams", with lyrics by Chrysa Laspa and music by Sofia Dimitriadis.

An act that showed that they were human beings with every right to life and joy.
