On January 27, 2023, 78 years since the liberation of the largest extermination camp during WWII, we honored and commemorated the victims of the Holocaust who died tragically during the war.
Jews, gypsies, dissidents, people with disabilities, prisoners of war and so many others who lost their lives were commemorated through the exhibition we presented today 27.1.2023 in the foyer of our school.
Our little tour guides, students of the XNUMXst Lyceum of our school, guided the students of the school and sections of other schools in the exhibition entitled: «Shoah: how it was humanly possible" of him Yad Vashem.

"Her Friday, January 27, 2023, we welcomed to our school the writer-poet and retired teacher - philologist from the martyred village of Kommeno in Arta, Mr. Dimitris Vlachopanos.
Mr. Vlachopanos, through his work and especially his book about Isaac Mizan, who from Arta was found in Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen, spoke to the students of two first grade classes and the teachers about the Holocaust of the Jews with the six millions of victims turned to ash in the ovens of the Nazi camps.

The school community of the 3rd GEL Kavala in a statement expresses its warm thanks to Aaron Tsiminos, son of the late Sabetai Tsiminos, as on Tuesday January 24, 2023, he opened his welcoming home and received in the most cordial way a delegation of his students and teachers school as part of a research paper on the Jewish Community of Kavala and its annihilation in the Treblinka extermination camp during World War II.
Mr. Tsimino gave an extremely interesting interview to the school's research team, which consisted of the students Mandrani Maria, Moysiadou Eugenia, Konstantinos-Christopher Nolan-Hioni & the teachers Dimitriadou Maria & Adamos Evangelos.
He referred to the long history of his family, the persecution suffered by the Jewish community of Kavala, the inhumane nature of fascism with most of the suffering it has caused to humanity as well as the great and complex legacy that his father left not only in his own homeland , Kavala, but also to historians, researchers and future generations. The tireless research of the late Sabbetai Cimino gave the children the opportunity and enabled them to illuminate, supplement and expand their study & knowledge of the Holocaust on the scale of the local.

Louder than any other year was this year's NEVER AGAIN children in Larissa and their dynamic presence in actions they organized or participated in, on the occasion of the National Holocaust Remembrance Day.
On Thursday 26 January 2023, more than 150 middle school and high school students they suffocated the Mill Theater and they watched the shocking performance "Saturday" of the Television Control Center, which tells the story and displacement of the Jews of Ioannina. It was an initiative of the Thessalian Theater (which offered this show to the Larissa public the night before) to repeat it the next day for the students and the response of the schools exceeded all expectations.
On Friday 27 January 2023 her tribute event was presented at the Municipal Conservatory of Secondary Education of Larisa, in collaboration with the Israeli Community, which has established itself in our city and is embraced by more schools every year. In this year's manifestation, which had an issue "Holocaust Drama Becomes Art" they participated 20 schools in the prefecture, presenting original creations of the students, which they had prepared under the guidance of their excellent teachers. Powerful paintings alternated with sensitive poems, written by the children themselves, collage posters with digital videos and theater acts with choral songs, in this impeccably organized event.

The Institute of International Relations (IDIS) organizes on Saturdays 18 February 2023 between the hours of 11:00 and 15:00 and 25 February 2023 between the hours of 11:00 and 15:00 educational seminar on "Deportation and extermination of the Greek Jews (1943-1944) - history and memory".
