Saltiel, the debriefing meeting and the awarding of honorable mentions to the distinguished students in the 8th Student Short Film Competition on the theme "The Holocaust and the Greek Jews", as well as certificates of participation to their teachers.
During the 2021-2022 school year, despite the adverse conditions of the pandemic, 32 schools took part in the competition with 59 films from 150 8st and XNUMXnd grade high school students. The students who distinguished themselves in the XNUMXth Student Competition participated in an educational program of the Jewish Museum of Greece, which included a preparatory meeting and an educational visit to the "Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum" in Poland.
The General Secretariat of Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and the Jewish Museum of Greece are organizing a Student Short Film Competition (video) on the theme: "The Holocaust and the Greek Jews".
Students of the 8st and 2023nd year of Lyceum of the following Secondary Education Departments can participate in the competition until February XNUMX, XNUMX: A, B, C, D of Athens, East Attica, West Attica, Piraeus, East Thessaloniki, West Thessaloniki, Rethymnon, Chania, Lasithi, Heraklion, Arcadia, Kavala, Drama, Arta, Ioannina and Preveza.
The winners will participate in a special educational program of the Jewish Museum of Greece, which includes, among other things, an educational visit to the "Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum" in Poland. The prize may be modified due to extraordinary circumstances.

Students of the 3rd High School visited the Jewish Synagogue of Trikala on Thursday, November 2022, 9. This visit took place in the context of a program that has been implemented lately in the German course, where the students research important historical events that took place on November 9 in Germany, but on different dates. November 1938, XNUMX is considered a landmark date because it marks the beginning of the Holocaust against the Jews with the so-called "Kristallnacht".
The students of our school were warmly welcomed in the area of the Jewish Synagogue by Matathias Venouziou, son of the president of I.K. Trikalon and Ms. Toula Negrin. After the tour of the premises of the recently renovated Synagogue building, the students were informed about the icon of I.K. Trikala before and during the Occupation and for the difficult journey of its members to Auschwitz, where they were led to death in a horrible way. The students of the School were accompanied by Ms. Korkakaki Nektaria, German teacher, and Ms. Biti Stavroula, Philologist.

On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, the results of the 8th Student Competition "The Holocaust and the Greek Jews" of the 2021-2022 school year were announced, according to the evaluation of the competent committee.
The awardees and distinguished persons in the competition conducted by the General Secretariat of Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs in collaboration with the Jewish Museum of Greece, will participate in a special annual educational program of the Jewish Museum of Greece which includes an educational visit to the Museum of Auschwitz (when conditions permit).
