On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, the results of the 9th Student Competition were announced "The Holocaust and the Greek Jews" of the 2022-2023 school year, according to the evaluation of the competent committee.
The awardees and distinguished persons in the competition conducted by the General Secretariat of Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs in collaboration with the Jewish Museum of Greece, will participate in a special annual educational program of the Jewish Museum of Greece which includes an educational visit to the Museum of Auschwitz.
The students of his XNUMXnd High School Arta Music School Giorgos Nasioulas, Maria Papadopoulou and Andriani Chouliara were awarded for the short film "Journey into the Great Night" with which they participated in the 9th Panhellenic Short Film Competition on the theme "The Holocaust and the Greek Jews" for the 2022-2023 school year. The competition was co-organized by the General Secretariat of Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and the Jewish Museum of Greece. The awarded students and the supervising teacher will participate in an educational program of the Jewish Museum of Greece, which, among other things, includes an educational visit to the Auschwitz State Memorial and Museum in Poland.

Beethoven's music, played by students of the Kavala Music School, opened the event organized by the Municipality of Kavala on the evening of Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Megali Leshi, to award the students who wrote reports and created short films on the theme of Holocaust of the Jews of Kavala.
Overall, they wrote reports 24 students from four high schools in the city: 3rd, 4th, 7th Kavala and Amygdaleona, of which 10 were awarded and belonged to the following students, in the order they were evaluated: Ifigenia Boubouna (4th), Amalia Karantelou (7th), Eumorfia Iosifidou (Amygdaleona), Ioannis Voulalas (4th), Maria Tsenikli (4th), Stathis Keloglou (Amygdaleona), Stefanos Kotzailias (4th), Christos Gikas (4th), Polydevkis Kousas (3rd), Sotirios Son Nolan Chionis (3rd).
They were also awarded students of the Music School of Kavala, who shot three short films, two of which are titled: "The Human Chessboard" and "Never Again", and the third dramatizes a scene from Joseph Mevorach's book "The Jews in the Tobacco Mecca" and is entitled "N' Ordinary Teen" [ read more about it by clicking here and here].
On January 27, 2023, 78 years since the liberation of the largest extermination camp during WWII, we honored and commemorated the victims of the Holocaust who died tragically during the war.
Jews, gypsies, dissidents, people with disabilities, prisoners of war and so many others who lost their lives were commemorated through the exhibition we presented today 27.1.2023 in the foyer of our school.
Our little tour guides, students of the XNUMXst Lyceum of our school, guided the students of the school and sections of other schools in the exhibition entitled: «Shoah: how it was humanly possible" of him Yad Vashem.

Mr. Vlachopanos, through his work and especially his book about Isaac Mizan, who from Arta was found in Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen, spoke to the students of two first grade classes and the teachers about the Holocaust of the Jews with the six millions of victims turned to ash in the ovens of the Nazi camps.
