The G.A.K.-Historical Archive of Epirus hosts the Exhibition "Art and the Holocaust. From the past to the present" from Wednesday 14/12 – Saturday 17/12/2022 and contribute with relevant archival material, regarding the Israelite Community of Ioannina, of Romaniotic Jewry, which numbered approximately 2.000 members until March 1944.
They are exposed prints of 16 works by persecuted Jewish artists, which were granted to the Department of Visual Arts and Art Sciences of the University of Ioannina, by the Yad Vashem Museum in Jerusalem and are housed in its visual collections. They are painted in any way possible, they capture aspects and moments of the Holocaust documenting the conditions of internment, forced labor and the crimes committed during the Second World War (1939-1945) in the ghettos, camps, places of resistance and refuge . Sometimes artists depict a different world, the one they hoped awaited them after the end of the war.

In the context of the cultural events of the Municipality of Athens, "Culture in the Neighborhoods - Athens, historical center", the Jewish Museum of Greece participates by offering free admission and two guided tours to the periodic art exhibition entitled, "Art of Memory and Commemoration", on Sunday, December 11, 2022 (times: 11:00 - 12:00 & 12:00 - 13:00).
The exhibition, presented at the Jewish Museum of Greece as part of the joint museum presentation, curated by Victor Cohen, proposes a new reading of the archaeological material, through the contemporary perspective of ten artists from the world of fine and applied arts.

On Saturday December 10, 2022 at 12:00 p.m., Ianos and Pataki publications are organizing at Ianos (Stadiou 24, Athens) the presentation of his book Leon A. Nar "To find the end of the thread again...", sketch of a poetic biography of Thanasis Papakonstantinou.
The book will be spoken by: Dimitris Angelis, poet, director of "Frear" magazine, Giorgos Allamanis, journalist, Dora Rizou, production manager at "Lyra", Thanasis Triaridis, writer and the author of the book.
A few words about the book: A book about the lyrical world of Thanasis Papakonstantinou, who has been much loved thanks to his songs. In the two parts of this poetic biography project - "With his own walk" and "Thematic and origins" - the social dimension of Papakonstantinou's verses, which in various ways reflect the intensity of existential anxiety, as well as the their relation to folk song and modern poetry. It also attempts, through characteristic examples of songs, to understand the creator's gaze towards the world and himself, society and the individual, the present and the past, memory and vision, East and West. Thanasis Papakonstantinou himself contributed to the effort of composing this book, willingly answering the author's questions about his poetic worldview.
The Political Philosophy Laboratory (EPoFi) of the Department of Philosophy (EKPA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and the Mémorial de la Shoah (Paris), invites undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Department of Philosophy to register to attend the two-day seminar "The Holocaust and mass atrocity: comparing to single out", with working languages English and Greek (there will be simultaneous translation from English).
