Tova and Meir are a couple in their sixties who love each other, but have been swallowed up by the small-town routine of suburban life. When a cosmopolitan bachelor moves into the apartment building's penthouse, his magnetic presence and karaoke nights in the apartment become an obsession for the quiet couple. But will their newfound extroversion mean a new beginning or the beginning of the end for their relationship? With the charismatic trio of leads unraveling an increasingly menacing tangle of repressed desires and forgotten ambitions, the film slyly weaves bittersweet comedy and penetrating drama into a mature (literally and figuratively) romantic comedy about the passage of time, proving that the insatiable human thirst for affirmation has no age.
1341 frames of love and war: Friday, October 7 - 19:00 Astor, Stadium 28 (Stoa Korai)
Presentation of the film by producer Sarig Peker
With his lens he captured some of the most shocking moments of Israeli history in the 20th century, which placed him among the top photographers of the entire planet. Now elderly, Micah Bar-Am looks back at his treasured archive and through 1341 iconic photographs he took, invites the public on a confessional memory journey that functions as a poignant chronicle, a review of his own life, and a reflection on the possibility that humanity has for ultimate greatness and ultimate destruction.

Short introduction
"Tanais" was an old merchant ship built in England. Its original name was "Hollywood". In 1935 it came into the possession of the Greek shipowner Stefanos Synodinos and was renamed "Tanais" after the ancient Greek city on the Don River. During the Second World War the ship was sunk twice: the first in 1941, during the Battle of Crete, by the Luftwaffe, only to be repaired and used by the Germans to transport cargo and passengers between the mainland and in the Aegean islands.
