On Wednesday 1 September 2021 and time 12:00-14:00, η ΙIsraelite Community of Thessaloniki, The Greece - Israel Friendship Association and Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki organize at the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki (Ag. Minas 11), event for the 200th anniversary of the start of the Revolution of 1821 for the independence of Greece, in the presence of the President of the "Greece 2021" Committee Ms. Gianna Angelopoulou Daskalaki. As part of the event, the Greece - Israel Friendship Association will announce Ms. Angelopoulou Daskalaki as its honorary President.

It is noted that the President of the "Greece 2021" Committee is the first person to be named honorary President since 1965 when the Greece - Israel Friendship Association was established.
The Deputy Minister of Interior responsible for Macedonia-Thrace issues, the Ambassador of Israel, the Regional Governor of Central Macedonia, the Mayor of Thessaloniki, members of the Hellenic-Israel Friendship Association, etc. have been invited to the event and are expected to attend.
We emphasize that all measures to protect public health will be strictly observed at the event site in accordance with the instructions of the competent state authorities to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
For this reason, we kindly ask the representatives of the press who will be covering the event to have with them, in printed or electronic form, their vaccination certificate accompanied by an identification form (identity card or passport).
Due to the pandemic, statements to the representatives of the press will be made in an outdoor area in front of the entrance of the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki, upon the arrival or departure of the guests, while Ms. Gianna Angelopoulou Daskalaki will make statements, in the same area, around 13:00 .
