A year after his last visit, Israel's Energy Minister Eli Cohen was back in Athens as part of the P-TEC energy conference. "K" spoke with him about the new energy agreements between Athens - Nicosia - Jerusalem and the progress in the two major projects, the energy interconnection through the pipeline EastMed and the Great Sea Interconnector cable.
At the historic Transatlantic 3+1 Energy Summit, held at Zappeion from 3-5.11.2025, the governments of the United States, Cyprus, Greece and Israel reaffirmed the their commitment to strengthening energy security and cooperation in Eastern Mediterranean.
The following is the joint statement they co-signed after the 3+1 Energy Ministerial Meeting:
"The ceasefire agreement must be strictly adhered to by all sides in order for it to be sustainable," stressed Israeli Ambassador to Greece Noam Katz, referring to developments in the Middle East, noting, at the same time, that this moment has the potential to usher in a new era, defined not by conflict, but by renewed hope for a more peaceful future.
On 28.5.2025, the "Maritime Med. Conference" was held in Athens with the participation of the Ambassador of Israel to Greece, Mr. Noam Katz, who in his post stated: "Today, I had the honor to participate in the "Maritime Med" Conference in Athens, a cooperation initiative between the Greek and Israeli business communities, with over 100 participants.
As part of the "Young Ambassadors" leadership program of the ICYL (Israeli Center for Young Leaders) of Israel, a special meeting was held in Athens, as 36 Israeli students from three schools in Jerusalem participated in an exchange program and Liberal came into contact with two of their young ambassadors.
The Israeli students met with more than 180 Greek students from 14 schools in Piraeus, having the opportunity for a valuable coexistence between the two new generations, while they visited the Greek Parliament, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Commission Delegation in Athens.
