In a unanimous decision issued this morning (6.5.2025), the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) fully vindicated the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki (IKTH), after a long dispute with the Greek State, over the ownership of a building block in the center of Thessaloniki. Although it was part of a much larger area that had been expropriated in favor of the Jewish Community in 1920, for the housing of fire victims, the Greek State claimed half of the disputed property (four acres in total), arguing that, as it had previously belonged to an Italian citizen, it had come into its possession as an enemy, after the declaration of war, on 28.10.1940.

On 24.4.2025, on the occasion of the first visit to Thessaloniki of the new Spanish ambassador to Greece, Jorge Domecq, the I.C. of Thessaloniki, the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki, the Spanish Embassy in Greece and the Cervantes Institute in Greece, organized the presentation of the book El espanyol sephardí by Manuel Gálvez Ibáñez at the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki.

With great joy, we celebrated the second night of Pesach on Sunday, April 13.4.2025, XNUMX, first with the service at the "Yad Lezikaron" Synagogue and then at our Community Center.
The Community Council, Rabbi Yitzhak Dayan and his wife Yafa Dayan, welcomed approximately 150 people warmly.
Young and old, under the guidance of the rabbi, we read our Haggadah - the story of the Exodus. Our voices joined in songs in Hebrew and Ladino, creating an atmosphere of emotion and tradition.

The book by architect, urban planner and writer, Dr. Elias Messinas "The Good" was presented on 1.4.2025, in the event hall of the Philoptochos Brotherhood of Men of Thessaloniki.
"The Good" is the third book in the trilogy that began with the book "The Synagogue" and continued with "The Synagogue".
On Saturday, March 29, 2025, the traveling exhibition "KARYA 1943. Forced Labor and the Holocaust" was inaugurated at the Folklore and Ethnographic Museum of Macedonia Thrace.
The exhibition, organized by the Center for Documentation of Nazi Forced Labor of the Topography of Terror Foundation in collaboration with the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, is under the auspices of the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, and the German Minister of Culture and the Media, Claudia Roth.
