On Thursday, December 14, 2023, I.K. Athens celebrated Hanukkah at the Beth Shalom Synagogue, the Festival of Light that symbolizes the hope that better days will come for all of us. As Judaism commands us despite the tragic events, we must choose light and life. The Rabbi of Athens, Gabriel Negrin, spoke to us about the meaning of the celebration, inspiring all those present with his words.
The keynote speakers of the event were Mrs. Vana Nikolaidou-Kyrianidou, Professor at the Department of Philosophy of the EKPA and the Dean of the School of Theology, Mr. Emmanuel Karageorgoudis. We were honored with their presence by the Director of the Political Office of the Minister, Mr. Vassilis Kikilia, Ms. Zois Tsolis, Ms. Vassiliki Keramida, Director of the Office of the Secretary General of Religions, Mr. Giorgos Kalatzis, Ms. Christina Xenopoulou from the General Secretariat Religious and the members of the I.K. And next year with health for everyone, let the light of Hanukkah candles shine again!

On Sunday, November 19, 2023, the annual action of the Israelite Community of Athens took place for Mitzvah Day, which according to the Jewish tradition is dedicated to giving and solidarity to fellow human beings.
Our action this year had the character of a happy, creative and moving event where we all assembled the furniture we donated to foundations, structures and NGOs, played drums and basketball and danced to the rhythm of Capoeira.
